Great music brings people together. A meaningful cause gives them a reason to keep coming back. Since 2019, Pumpkinstock has grown from a Boyle family gathering into a community tradition that turns a shared love of music into lasting local impact. In 2026, that mission became even more personal when organizers selected Sunshine Communities as a beneficiary in honor of Brooke Jacoby.

“After losing Brooke, I’ve wanted to honor her in a way that would have a lasting impact,” shared Betsy (Jacoby) Greenleaf, Brooke’s sister, a friend of the Boyle family and a Pumpkinstock organizer. “As Pumpkinstock continued to grow, partnering with Sunshine felt like a natural fit because of how important the organization was to Brooke and our family.”

Brooke began her journey with Sunshine through day programming. She later moved into a Sunshine community home, where she found an extended family filled with love and support.

A portion of this year’s proceeds benefited Sunshine’s transportation program, which provides safe rides to work, appointments and activities for people with developmental disabilities. These same services helped Brooke lead a full, active life. Known for her vibrant personality, deep love for her family and gift for making others laugh, Brooke leaves a lasting legacy that will help others enjoy the opportunities she cherished.

“Brooke was more than a passenger to us. She was part of our Sunshine Transportation family. She had such a fun, spirited personality, and our drivers loved joking back and forth with her. In fact, Will and I were sharing memories of Brooke not long before Pumpkinstock. Even after all these years, those memories and the relationships we built remain with us. Brooke is truly missed, and we're grateful to Betsy and everyone involved with Pumpkinstock for honoring her memory in a way that will help others experience the same opportunities and joy that meant so much to her,” shared Vincent Rinker, Senior Manager, Transportation Services.

“Everyone deserves opportunities to live a full and meaningful life. I hope Sunshine continues making that possible for the individuals and families they support, just as they did for Brooke,” shared Betsy.

Pumpkinstock’s sponsors, musicians, volunteers and supporters helped raise $3,500 for Sunshine’s transportation program. Their generosity will help people with developmental disabilities travel safely, access opportunities and stay connected to their communities.
