At just above 90 degrees, the Sunshine Communities pool is a great place for exercising and relaxing. We invite you to join us for our many public programs or even to rent the pool and gym for your next gathering.
Sunshine Communities, in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation, provides aquatics exercise classes for people with arthritis or related rheumatic diseases or musculoskeletal conditions. Certified trainers lead participants through specifically designed exercises which, with the aid of the water’s buoyancy and resistance, can help improve joint flexibility. The heated pool temperature can also relieve joint pain and stiffness. Arthritis classes take place at different times each weekday, with multiple classes on certain days.
Whether you are looking for physical activity, fitness, or recreation, our pool offers a great opportunity to exercise and support Sunshine. We offer Open Swim times six days a week.
The Sunshine pool is available for birthday parties, special events, and school programs. Rentals are available on weekend and, in some cases, on a week day. A certified lifeguard will be on site and we’re stocked with pool noodles, kickboards, diving toys, therapy equipment, and much more.
Parties, family get-togethers, or sports practice – Sunshine has the place for you! The Sunshine gym has two basketball hoops, basketballs, games, and other sports equipment, but we can also provide tables or chairs for non-athletic gatherings too. You’re welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic drinks.
For more information on any of these programs or to check on times and pricing, contact Aquatics Supervisor Chris Ballard at 419-865-0251 ext. 3511 or email CBallard@sunshine.org.
