A Woman Smiling

Sunshine provides residential support to individuals of all ages in over 29 homes throughout Lucas and Wood counties. These include 7 homes at our Maumee campus, 12 homes within the community, and 10 homes where Sunshine staff provides varying amounts of support from our direct support professionals. These services are provided through Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and waiver designations through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. All of those supported residentially benefit from Sunshine transportation services for commuting needs. Additionally, our accessible indoor pool, sensory room, barn, and year-round events are available to all. Campus Homes

At our Maumee campus, we support individuals who are medically fragile in our 7 ICF homes. Here we have 24/7 nursing care, a fully staffed dietary team, and an in-house therapy team. Each home offers a bedroom, common living areas, and a beautiful backyard space on our quiet Maumee property.

Community Homes

Sunshine pioneered family-style living for people with developmental disabilities when the first home in Lucas County opened in 1978 on Parkridge Lane. Today we operate 12 Family Care Homes in Lucas and Wood counties situated in residential neighborhoods. Each home, whether ICF or waiver, features family-style living with 24/7 staff support. Each home enjoys the great benefits of living in community, from cookouts to birthday parties to outings.
