At Sunshine Communities, we strive to provide a comfortable and safe environment for those we support. To meet this need, we are due for major renovations to upgrade and maintain infrastructure that performs vital functions. We are currently facing a critical need at our Maumee campus. The current HVAC (heating, ventilation, and cooling) system has reached a point where replacement is required. A new and efficient system will effectively meet the needs of individuals we support.
The HVAC system regulates physical processes that some individuals cannot do independently. For example, high-quality filtration of diseases and allergens is essential for individuals with lung conditions and provides a defense against the spread of infectious diseases between areas. Individuals with blood flow and circulation limitations often feel colder indoors. This new system will allow us to exercise greater control over certain areas to meet those needs in specific areas.
Please consider making a donation towards the replacement of our HVAC system. This project will be a large undertaking that will take years to complete, but the crucial investments we make today will impact the lives of many for decades to come. For wheelchair users unable to adjust themselves when they are too warm, it is essential for building temperatures to be consistent. Sunshine individuals depend on these spaces and controlled environments for support, in addition to our amazing staff.
A new system will result in efficient energy use, more temperature control, and cost savings. It will ensure that all of those we support are comfortable and healthy. Individuals and their families depend on this space. It is not simply infrastructure; it is a place that many call home. When basic needs are met it allows Sunshine to foster relationships, provide peace of mind, and allows individuals to be comfortable, happy, and settled. We are tasked to ensure this space is adequately suited to meet basic standards of care and comfort.
