NEW! Pool Manager

Supervises the staffing, operation, and maintenance of a swimming pool. Develops and promotes recreational and aquatics programs within Sunshine and with outside organizations. Coordinating activities for aquatics, Multisensory Room and the Gym. Ensures the maintenance and upkeep of the pool and locker room areas, Gym and Multisensory Room.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Performs lifeguard duties/maintain water safety by focusing on scanning the water, not talking on cell phone, eating, or unnecessarily talking to other staff or patrons.
  • Provide direct supervision of the lifeguards. Schedules lifeguards to ensure adequate coverage for programs.
  • Performs CPR & First Aid as needed
  • Interacts with customers and coworkers in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Accurately tests and balances water chemistry, orders/picks up supplies from appropriate vendors, and takes water samples
  • Clean all parts of pool and bathhouse facility
  • Organizes, implements, and teaches swim lesson program
  • Organizes and implements special swim events.
  • Insures required daily paper work is completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner
  • Insures incident and accident reports are completed, as needed, in a accurate and timely manner.
  • Insures Pool Rental sheets and pool calendar date records are filled out in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develops and distributes staff work schedules.
  • Supervises pool staff and conducts staff training, corrective actions and evaluation
  • Insures the inspection, monitoring, operation, maintenance, and repair of all pool equipment, systems, and facilities.
  • Markets Sunshine’s recreational facilities to organizations serving people with disabilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Lifeguard Certification (and the ability to maintain it).
  • CPR Certification.
  • First Aid/AED Certification, WSI Certification, and Pool Operator Course desired, but not required.
  • CPO Certification required at hire or pass course after hire.
  • Ability to supervise and interact with staff and patrons.
  • Ability to operate and maintain pool systems and equipment.
  • Ability to swim multiple successive laps in the pool.

Med Technician

Sunshine is hiring two full-time Med Technicians to provide medical intervention & medical focused supports to Individuals with high medical needs assigned to them by the RN Nursing Manager.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Consistently implement all aspects of the Individual Plans (ISP/IP), and medical care, while functioning as a Direct Support Professional in various sites.
  • Provide full set of vitals for each resident assigned and chart and report to nursing.
  • Maintains patient stability by checking weights; recording intake and output information, monitoring skin status; reporting any changes in status to Nurse.
  • Provides resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting residents; Reporting observations of the resident to nurse
  • Attend medical appointments and work in conjunction with MAPS and nursing when needed.
  • Accurately records medical, and any other required agency documentation.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining license.
  • Enhances nursing department and Sunshine Community reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Perform special tasks assigned by the Nursing Manager and/or the Vice President of Nursing.
  • Performs medical tasks and work in conjunction with nursing.
  • Attends all required training’s and professional development meetings as required.
  • Performs other regular duties of a Direct Support Professional as needed.
  • Serves as lead trainer to assigned site as part of that site’s staffing ratio and assists in transition planning when the Medical Technician will be faded as an additional support to the individual and site staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active STNA or other medical certified individual
  • Current RN or LPN Student with Direct Care experience preferred

Residential Service Manager

Intense two to three months of training that combines 50% of time providing direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with 50% of time spent with online and classroom type training. This is in preparation for being assigned a caseload of individuals supported by the agency either in a residential or vocational program.

The training you receive will prepare you for the program manager position. Job duties for this position are summarized below:

  • Reports to an area Director and is responsible for an assigned caseload of individuals.
  • Works with Scheduling department to ensure staff coverage and support for assigned homes or vocational sites. This at times includes working in those homes or vocational sites.
  • Assesses needs acuity and supporting documentation using required state assessment tools such as ODDP, IAF, AAI, etc.
  • Ensures thorough assessment of needs, involving clinical staff as appropriate, including OT, PT, Speech, Medical, Nursing and Behavior AnalystStaff support
  • Hires staff members and provides regular feedback to staff that includes hand on training, support and evaluation.
  • Communicates staff feedback and uses it effectively to improve services and the work environment
  • Develops (or participates in development of) support plans that address needs and preferences of the individual and family, and assures all necessary approvals and resources are in place before implementation.
  • Participates in agency on call system on a rotational basis.
  • Reports to an area Director and is responsible for an assigned caseload of individuals.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required for some positions and is preferred for others as well as one or more years’ experience in the field of developmental disabilities, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • One or more years’ experience in supervision strongly preferred as well as some direct care giving/support services.
