NEW! Aquatics Supervisor

Pool

Sunshine’s pool offers time to exercise, relax or connect with each other in fun.

Sunshine’s aquatics supervisor develops and promotes recreational and aquatics programs within Sunshine and with outside organizations. This person also coordinates activities for aquatics/pool, Sunshine’s multisensory Room and our gym.

The supervisor, in addition to other duties:

  • Ensures the maintenance and upkeep of the pool, locker rooms, gym and multisensory room
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies and orders,
  • Schedules the pool and whirlpool use for clients of Sunshine and the public,
  • Provides direct supervision of the lifeguards. Schedules lifeguards to ensure adequate coverage for programs,
  • Markets Sunshine’s recreational facilities to organizations that support people with disabilities,
  • Instructs arthritis exercise classes and others as needed,
  • Adapts recreational and aquatic programs to meet needs of individual with disabilities,
  • Coordinates and submits billing to the finance department on revenue from the gym, multisensory room and pool areas,
  • Provides staff training in conjunction with the Clinical Services department, and
  • Coordinates wellness programs with Human Resources as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Current Red Cross lifeguard certification and lifeguarding CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Certified Pool Operator certification is required. May be required to obtain additional certifications

Director, Residential Services

A residential services director at Sunshine provides direction and leadership in residential services.Specifically, this person manages and directs services and supports based on the needs of the individuals, the mission of the agency, and financial considerations. He or she will do this by performing the following duties personally or by working with residential services managers and direct support staff:

  • Establishes current and long range objectives, plans, and policies, in conjunction with other agency leaders.
  • Directs all programmatic areas of service consistent with mission and values.
  • Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with all county, state and/or Federal regulations applicable to the department.
  • Coordinates and oversees all surveys, and reviews by the appropriate county, State and/or Federal regulatory bodies including developing and implementing plans of correction
  • Ensures Individual Plans are person-centered and implemented effectively. Maintains a familiarity and working knowledge of the individuals that Sunshine supports and for communicating with their families and guardians.
  • Creates positive working relationships with Individuals families, guardians, other agencies, and other providers, Represents Sunshine in a professional, collaborative manner.
  • Participates as directed by the Vice President of Residential Services in county and state level committees where Sunshine would benefit from representation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages 4 to 6 program managers and 50-100 employees in the Family Care Homes, Supported Living, and/or base homes. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Maintenance - Full-time

This person will work with Sunshine’s maintenance team keeps Sunshine’s main campus and other properties safe and beautiful, and it’s systems efficient and reliable.Among duties, this crew member:

  • maintains furnace, air conditioner, and boilers to provide heat, cool air, and hot water,
  • tends to painting
  • tends to landscaping.

Shifts include weekends. Candidates must have experience/training in electrical, plumbing and woodworking. Candidates may have a handyman background and must have experience operating power tools such as saws and drills and should also be familiar with building codes regulations.

RequirementsThis position requires: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. We need someone who can work independently and swiftly; good attendance record a must.

Driver - Part Time

A Sunshine driver transports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to and from home and work as well as trips around the community. Open positions are on 1st and 2nd shifts and will include about 20 hours a week. Starting rate is $10.61.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and an excellent driving record. Must be able to pass a background check as well as a drug screen and physical exam.
  • Previous work experience in transportation is a plus, but not required.

Baker - Part Time

A baker at Sunshine prepares bread, rolls, muffins, pastries and biscuits according to recipe by performing the following duties:

  • Checks production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
  • Prepares baked goods based on specific training received through manager and makes any necessary adjustments to control temperatures
  • Removes baked goods from oven and places goods on cooling rack.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning process; implementing changes.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying ingredients; requisitioning supplies; verifying receipt

Keeps all equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining replacement parts inventory; performing preventative maintenance; notifying management when repairs are necessary.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of food sanitation, food safety management and multitasking preferred.

Cook - full-time

A Sunshine cook works alongside a dietary team and responsible for cooking food by following menus, standardized recipes, and production sheets for all meals, preparing food and beverages to proper consistencies.

More specifically, the cook will:

  • Taste and smell prepared food items to determine quality and palatability.
  • Follow therapeutic diets as prescribed by physician.
  • Follow production sheets, along with dishing up/serving food to meet portion control and food analysis.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent; Preference is given to candidate with some education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets. Experience in health care is preferred. Minimum 1 year food service/health care experience is desired. Cooks are to be trained in dietary positions before being trained as a cook.
